For people requiring a full upper and/or lower teeth restoration, Dentalways offers a procedure called All-on-4 dental implants.
Created by industry leader Nobel Biocare, the All-on-4 technique provides patients with a faster and more cost-effective solution to tooth replacement. Traditional approaches to full-arch restorations require six, eight or even more implants and involve bone grafting. This time-consuming process can take up to a year and a half to complete, leaving patients with no teeth or ill-fitting dentures for long periods of time.
With the All-on-4 concept only four implants are needed and absolutely NO bone grafting is necessary. Of the four implants, two are straight anterior implants and two are tilted to 45 degrees in the posterior. This tilting allows the implants to use available bone, thereby avoiding grafting and allowing the patient to leave with a full set of teeth on the day their implants are placed.
Prior to having the procedure done, the process will be planned out by doing CT scans, dental radiographs and taking impressions. On the day of surgery any needed extractions will be done and the implants will be placed. A temporary set of teeth that will remain in the mouth throughout the healing process will be attached to the implants at this time. In order to ensure there is no movement that could disrupt the integration of the implants to the bone, the patient is required to follow a soft diet for 8 weeks after the procedure.
Once the implants have fully integrated with the bone and the mouth has healed, new impressions will be taken and a set of permanent teeth will be created and placed. Not only do these new teeth look like natural teeth but they function just like natural teeth, too. Dental implants are durable and have the same force for biting as natural teeth. All-on-4 teeth require the same amount of care as natural teeth, like regular brushing and flossing, but have less risk of gum recession and bone loss than with using implant overdentures. Best of all, dental implants last upwards of 25 years and can provide a lifelong solution to missing teeth.
