Porcelain veneers are a great option if you want a great looking smile in the shortest time possible. To cover chips, breaks, stains and gaps on your teeth, dental veneers are the way to go. Similar to crowns, they are applied to both the top and bottom teeth and their appearance mimics natural teeth.
Dental veneers are applied to the front surface of your teeth and are made of thin shells of ceramic materials. Dr. Khullar and his Dentalways team will custom-make and custom-color your dental veneers, so you won’t be able to tell the difference between them and your own real, natural teeth.
The whole process generally takes about one month. After the initial consultation, during which the Dentalways team will go over the steps with you, you’ll have a second appointment when a impression (mold) will be made of your teeth. A custom-made set of veneers are created from the impressions we take from your teeth. In the final appointment, your porcelain dental veneers are inserted in your mouth, and all that's left is a beautiful, gleaming smile.
Dr. Khullar has completed over 1,000 hours of Advanced Continuing Dental Education and much of that was done in Cosmetic Dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Education. In addition, Dr. Khullar only uses a Las Vegas Institute trained dental laboratory for all his Cosmetic Porcelain Veneer cases, so you can be rest assured your getting the best possible restoration.
Reasons for Porcelain Veneers
- Cosmetically, to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile
- Crooked teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Severely stained or discolored teeth
- Teeth that are too small or too large
- Unwanted or uneven spaces
- Worn or chipped teeth
What's involved in getting porcelain veneers?
With little or no anesthesia required during the procedure, getting veneers generally requires two visits to complete the process. The teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping of the surface. This allows a thickness for the veneer to adhere to. Next, an impression or mold of the teeth is taken and a shade (color) will then be chosen together by you and cosmetic dentist - Dr. Khullar.
On your second visit your teeth will be cleaned with special liquids used to help achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and the veneer while a special light beam is used to set and harden the bond.
